MojoPad

Edit with AI

Rewrite text with the local model, in place. Select some words, tell MojoPad what to do — "tighten this", "fix the grammar", "make a table", "turn into action items" — and it proposes a rewrite you can see and approve before anything changes. It's a careful editor that lives right in your page, and it runs on your Mac — or, if you have turned on Bring your own model and permitted this wiki, on the model you set up, since rephrasing is one of the things you ask for. The panel says which, every time. See Local AI.

How it works

  1. Select the text you want to change — a sentence, a paragraph, a list, or several.
  2. Open it: a appears right at your selection. (Or press ⌃⌘E, or use Format ▸ Edit with AI….)
  3. Say what you want — tap a preset (Tighten, Fix grammar, Make a table, To action items, Summarize) or type any instruction in plain language.
  4. Review the diff — the panel shows a before/after, removed text in red and added in green, streaming in as the model writes.
  5. Apply to keep it, Keep both to add it underneath, or Discard (or Esc) to walk away. Re-run with a different instruction as often as you like first — nothing changes until you choose.

Replace it, or keep both

Apply puts the result in place of what you selected, which is what you want almost every time: Tighten and Fix grammar are corrections, and keeping the sentence you asked to have corrected would be strange.

Keep both puts the result underneath and leaves your selection exactly where it was. That is the one you want when the result is a new thing rather than a better version of the old one. Summarize is the clearest case — a summary of a quotation you have collected is not a replacement for the quotation, and a reader lost one that way before this button existed. Make a table is often the same: you want the table and the list it came from.

Either way you get a second chance — the toast in the corner undoes it, and so does ⌘Z.

You can ask for anything

The presets are just shortcuts for the same box — type whatever you want: "translate to Spanish", "make this more formal", "explain it like I'm five", "rewrite as a checklist", "fix the dates to ISO format". It works on the text you selected and hands back text that replaces it, so it's a transformer, not an agent — it won't edit other pages or reach the web, and results are only as sharp as your local model. If one misses, just rephrase and run it again before applying.

Just the part you selected

Select a whole paragraph and the whole paragraph is rewritten; select a single sentence inside it and only that sentence changes — the rest of the paragraph is left exactly as it was.

Changed your mind?

After you Apply, a small Undo pill appears right at the edit — one click puts it back. (Plain ⌘Z works too; an AI edit is a single undo step.)
