Palettes

Palettes are the small tools docked on the right side of the window. Click the Palettes toolbar button (⌃⌥T) to show or hide the panel; it opens to Info, the first of a row of tabs along the top. Drag a tab onto another to reorder them and the order sticks; drag the divider to widen the panel, double-click it to reset.

The tabs carry the handful you reach for most — Info, Context (a calm read on the page you're on: its connections, the AI-related notes, and its details), Properties, Pages, Backlinks, Related, Tags, Calendar, Updates, Static. Every other pane below still exists — open it from the command palette (⇧⌘P) with Show (pane), e.g. "Show Provocations" or "Show Rediscover".

The palette panel — one click per tool.
PaletteWhat it does
ContextThe page you're on at a glance — its connections (backlinks and unlinked mentions), the related notes your AI finds by meaning, and its key details, each section collapsible. A calm read on where this note sits.
PagesEvery page, filterable — a second page list that lives on the right. Turn on Select to tick several pages and act on all at once: add or remove a tag, set their page type, move them into a folder, add them to the Table of Contents, or delete them (with a confirmation — pages go to Recently Deleted). Two or more can be ✦ Synthesized into a new note.
BacklinksEvery page that links to the current page, each with the sentence around the mention. Below them, any unlinked mentions — pages whose text names this page but that aren't linked to it (the pair was unlinked, or auto-linking is off) — so nothing that talks about this page stays hidden. Hover a row for a preview card.
OutgoingThe mirror of Backlinks — every page the current one links out to, with the sentence around each link.
RelatedPages whose content resembles this one, found with local AI embeddings — connections you never made explicitly. See Local AI.
RediscoverForgotten notes worth seeing again now — your own pages, surfaced by how forgotten and how relevant-to-recent-writing they are. See When Your Wiki Thinks Back.
ProvocationsWhere two of your notes genuinely disagree — contradictions your local model finds among related pairs. See When Your Wiki Thinks Back.
BisectState a belief and pinpoint the note where your view turned — git-bisect for your own thinking. See When Your Wiki Thinks Back.
LintA "problems panel" for meaning: unsupported claims, contradictions, and orphan pages. See When Your Wiki Thinks Back.
ShiftsRecord a change of mind ("I used to think X, now Y") into a timeline. See When Your Wiki Thinks Back.
TagsAssign tags to the current page, or Browse every tag in the document. Tags nest with a slash — area/health, area/health/sleep — and Browse shows them as a collapsible tree, each level with a count of the pages beneath it; click a page to jump to it.
InfoThe current page: name, dates, type, skip-on-export; aliases; document settings (home page, new-page format, linking toggles); custom URL links.
MetaArbitrary key/value pairs on the page — invisible data that scripts can read and write. See Scripting: Plugins.
To-dosEvery line in the document containing a to-do token (@todo by default — add your own in the pane). Click to jump.
AnchorsEvery page anchor in the document (Format ▸ Add Page Anchor…) — bookmarks within long pages. Click to jump and flash.
UpdatesRecently edited and recently viewed pages with timestamps.
CalendarThe daily-notes month view — dotted days have notes; click a day to open or start one. See Daily Notes.
StaticPublish the wiki as a blog. See Static Publishing.
ScriptsThe script runner and your plugin pages. See Scripting: Plugins.

(MojoPad's AI used to live here as an “Ask AI” pane; it now has its own ✦ AI drawer that slides out from the toolbar — see Local AI.)

(Info used to have its own toolbar button; it's now simply the first palette tab — and the pane the panel opens to.)
