MojoPad

Welcome to MojoPad

You've got too much on your mind. Snippets of research, half-formed plans, phone numbers, meeting notes, recipes, project journals — MojoPad gives all of it one home, and then gives you a dozen ways to get it back out.

A MojoPad document is a personal wiki: a collection of pages that link to each other. The really good part is how links happen — write the name of any page, anywhere, and the words light up and become a link. No syntax to learn, no brackets to type. The more you write, the more connected your document becomes.

A MojoPad document: page list on the left, your page in the middle, palettes on the right.

What's in the box

  • Effortless linking — page names, aliases, and WikiWords link themselves as you type. See Pages and Linking.
  • Every kind of content — rich text, Markdown Pages with a live formatted view, plain text, images, PDFs, web archives, sketches, audio memos.
  • Serious search — boolean operators, exact phrases, wildcards, and a semantic layer that finds pages by meaning. See Searching.
  • A journal built in — press ⌘T for today's note. See Daily Notes.
  • Private by design — encrypt a page or a whole document with AES-256; AI features run entirely on your Mac. See Encryption and Privacy, and Local AI.
  • Ways out — web export, PDF, ePub, plain text, Word, XML backup, a built-in web server, and Static Publishing, which turns your wiki into a blog with an RSS feed.
  • Room to grow — JavaScript plugins, scriptlets, event pages, templates, clippings, and a shell-script escape hatch. See the Scripting chapters.

Using this manual

This manual is itself a MojoPad document — every chapter is a page, chapter names link automatically wherever they're mentioned, and the Collections palette shows the full table of contents in reading order. Feel free to highlight, annotate, or scribble margin notes; it's your copy. (To reset it, delete MojoPad Manual.mojopad from MojoPad's Application Support folder and open Help ▸ MojoPad Manual again.)
