Speak instead of type. MojoPad turns your voice into text — into a page, or into the AI chat — using your Mac's on-device speech recognition. Nothing is sent to a server; the audio never leaves your Mac.
On any editable page, click the floating 🎤 (bottom-right), press ⌥⌘D, or type /
and choose Dictate. Start talking and the words appear at your cursor, growing as you go — pause
to gather a thought and keep going; it keeps listening across pauses. Click the mic again (or ⌥⌘D)
to stop, and the text is dropped in. Punctuation is added automatically as each sentence settles.
The AI drawer's input has its own 🎤 — press it and speak your question instead of typing, then send as usual. See Local AI.
macOS asks permission to use the microphone and speech recognition the first time — grant both. Dictation is strictly on-device: if your Mac can't recognize your language offline, MojoPad tells you rather than going online.
