MojoPad

Dictation

Speak instead of type. MojoPad turns your voice into text — into a page, or into the AI chat — using your Mac's on-device speech recognition. Nothing is sent to a server; the audio never leaves your Mac.

Dictate into a page

On any editable page, click the floating 🎤 (bottom-right), press ⌥⌘D, or type / and choose Dictate. Start talking and the words appear at your cursor, growing as you go — pause to gather a thought and keep going; it keeps listening across pauses. Click the mic again (or ⌥⌘D) to stop, and the text is dropped in. Punctuation is added automatically as each sentence settles.

Dictate into the AI chat

The AI drawer's input has its own 🎤 — press it and speak your question instead of typing, then send as usual. See Local AI.

The first time

macOS asks permission to use the microphone and speech recognition the first time — grant both. Dictation is strictly on-device: if your Mac can't recognize your language offline, MojoPad tells you rather than going online.
