MojoPad · Learn · Rabbit Hole

Every question opens a door.

Put one word on a canvas. MojoPad writes a short, rich card about it, and every bold word opens the next one. Follow your curiosity as far as it runs, and keep everything you find.

Like a set of encyclopedias

The encyclopedia that follows your curiosity.

A shelf of encyclopedias opened the world one volume at a time, in the order of the alphabet. MojoPad keeps the wonder and changes the order. It follows the question you actually asked, and every door you open becomes part of what you know.

Then

The alphabet decided.

Volcanoes in V, Pompeii in P, magma in M. You read an article, closed the book, and the thread was gone.

Now

Your curiosity decides.

One question leads to the next, and the whole trail stays on the canvas, linked and searchable, ready to pick up next week.

“As I built this, I wished I’d had it in grade school and high school. It’s like the set of encyclopedias we had back in my day.”

One evening, one question

From “volcanoes” to a finished school report.

Maya is in seventh grade and has a science report due Friday. Here is how one word becomes a report written in her own words, with her dad learning alongside her.

    She types one word.

Maya puts volcanoes on a canvas, and the first card arrives: a short article with headings and key words in bold. She clicks magma, and a new card opens beside the first. Twenty minutes later she is standing in the streets of Pompeii.

How: choose ✦ New Rabbit Hole (⇧⌘P; called New Playground in versions before the next update), type a topic, then click any bold word or press ✦ Grow.

  2. 02 · Capture

    She keeps what matters.

She drags the cards she wants onto her notes page and writes a line beside each, in her own words. With Photos on, cards illustrate themselves from openly licensed collections, and every picture carries its credit, ready for her bibliography.

  3. 03 · Connect

It joins what she already knows.

A rabbit hole isn’t a pile of tabs she closes and forgets. The canvas saves like any page and shows up in search. Next month, when science class gets to earthquakes, her trail on plate tectonics is still there, ready to keep growing.

  4. 04 · Think

    She asks her own questions.

Every card has room for a follow-up, and her own questions are the ones that teach the most. Before the quiz, MojoPad turns her notes into flashcards and brings each one back just before she would forget it.

How: “Add a follow-up…” at the foot of any card · ✦ Flashcards from this page.

Then she writes it, in her own words.

Her report sits beside the canvas, so every fact she found is one glance away while she writes. When it’s done, she exports it to PDF or Word for school. The cards helped her learn. The report is hers.

For parents

Give them a head start.

A curious mind, and a place where everything they learn connects. The habit of following a question, keeping what you find and writing it in your own words lasts from grade school through college.

Learn alongside them.

Ask your own question on the same canvas. It grows its own trail in its own color, so you can see where your curiosity went and where theirs did, then talk about both at dinner.

Good to know.

  • The thinking happens on your Mac. By default, cards are written by the AI model on your own Mac, with no accounts and no per-question fees.
  • Pictures only when you ask. Photos come from openly licensed collections (Openverse and Wikimedia Commons), each with its credit and license.
  • Every card says who wrote it. AI cards are marked with the model that wrote them. As with any source, check the facts that matter. That’s a good habit to learn early.
  • It keeps. A rabbit hole saves like any page, so it’s there to revisit and keep growing.

For every age of curiosity

It grows up with them.

Grade school

“Why is the sky blue?”

Short cards, bold words to click and pictures to look at. Every answer leads to another question.

High school

From a history unit to a research essay.

Follow the thread, keep the sources and their credits, and write the essay beside them.

College

From a seminar reading to a paper.

Explore a field fast, then make flashcards from your notes so it sticks past the exam.

Parents

Learn alongside, or on your own.

Ask your own questions on their canvas, or start a rabbit hole of your own after bedtime.
